I have a 1991 FJ1200 Chopper. It has a Sportster tank which exposes the ignition coil & HT leads. I would like to fit blue leads and was wondering if the HT leads could be pulled or turned out from the ignition coil, or are they fixed together as one piece.
I am reluctant to pull on them too hard encase I damage them. The other thing is that I wish to get a nice shiny cover for my oil cooler, Do any naked yamaha's use the same oil cooler which will help me find a cover on ebay which will fit?
Anyone in the know, please tell
Cheers

Hi there.
I think many members might cringe at "1991 FJ1200 Chopper" :bad: but to each his own I reckon.... :good:
as for the ht leads....maybe unscrew the plug caps and fit some blue heat shrink over them?
Not sure about the oil cooler.
cheers

Stay rubber side down.

Yes Perry, the leads can be pulled out of the coils..... they may be bedded with a little silicone sealant or not.
Sorry, can't help with the oil cooler cover either, tho I would hesitate to put anything over the OEM cooler - especially if you do any low speed or really warm weather riding - its a cooler for a reason  :negative:

FJZ1 1200 - It'll do me just fine.
Timing has much to do with the success of a rain dance.
