Sorry to hear about your mishap Pat, get well soon. A big "hats off" to Marsh for organizing this rally,I can only guess how much work it took. Even though I only made it for the last night I'm very  happy that I made it. The hospitality was great and it was really good to be able to put faces and personalities to names. I made it back to Vancouver Island on monday night. The weather was great all the way back and I managed to do the Washington peninsula loop before catching the ferry. I did manage to meet a Washington state trooper who actually let me off with a warning for what he considerd an unusual passing manuever. Note to mokey man . Perwinkle is endangered, do not destroy rear wheel apply perwinkle treatment to front wheel and save the herd. Looking forward to the next rally. Hein
What do you mean, you don't have a lathe?

Gazza

Paddy update:

Talked to him this afternoon and he's waaay better.  His ribs are improving by the day as are his foot bones so he's doing some walking and hanging in there pretty well for the most part.  He had his first scrub-down bath-wise since the incident so that made a big difference in his attitude, too.  The lung is working well also.

I'll let him fill you in on further details but just wanted to let you all know that he's a tough old bird and doing good!

I conducted some research on the Periwinkle color of this particular bike.....There seems to be good reason that many of the parts are coming up as parts from crashed bikes. Not sure if it has to do with the cagers fixating on the color of the wheels and endangering the rider and bike, or the twisted F%$# that chose to buy a bike with that color of wheel. Either way, the parts are plentiful and I am changing the F%$# color this weekend.

Most happy to have met you Hein and you are most welcome to join me for a ride any time. Not that we had a chance to ride with your late arrival. Your very Orange FJ would have made some good conversation at the camp fire the night before. Your choice of wine and smoked cheese went well with the campfire. Stay in touch and ride safe.

Not sure if this works as a link. All the pics I took, not many and some are more for my kids. Some are out of focus, the vid shows the double rainbow, hard to see unless you look towards the end of the vid. I want to see pics from Marsh's camera. Henry had some good pics.

Thanks....I think...... It was a great trip either way...... Being there is better than watching the pictures and vids... Kind of sucked with the rain, really killed the great miles we almost had. First near rain out for the WCR. 8 pounds of thermite are still waiting for the next gathering (bring it on Mr. Bean....) I can't wait to meet you all again.....My rear will no longer be Blue/Purple....And I will have more than 60 miles of tread left.... Or moon boots.....

Maybe Marsh took a total count, we had at least 16+ FJ's, two Aprillas, One Triumph, and one 650 Ninja. Oh, and some FJ envy from the good mods and upgrades. Shame on me for bringing my purple wheel.....

Hmmm...
I could have said that differently to covey the proper meaning.......Live and learn...Get your ass to a rally (Periwinkle or not) and it will make much more sense.

Home safe and sound in BC! Had a great trip home, managed to sneak in one day of rainless riding at the Columbia Gorge (yes, it was in fact very windy Garth!) Thanks to everyone for coming out and to Marsh for organizing a great event. It was awesome to finally see the faces behind all the knowledgeable posts! Steve gets the award though for "best organizer of a hockey watching event in the rural mountains of California"! GO CANUCKS GO! So sorry to hear about Pat, thanks for the continual updates and we wish him and his bike a speedy recovery.

Looking forward to doing it again next year (minus the rain!)...

Fjmonkey, nice to see your rally pics. You can always invite those friends of yours from the grand opening picture file. I'm sure they'd make the fjs look even prettier and they'd certainly distract people from your purple rear.

Yeah...I can just picture next year with a gaggle of them girls posing for pictures while climbing all over our FJ's. Then later when viewing the pics....What Purple wheel???, I don't even see any FJ's in the pictures...There is not single motorcycle in any of these pictures....Have to move this post to a Non-FJ section. The wives and girlfriends are shaking fingers at me saying that is not Purple...its Blue.

I got a laugh out of Mike when one them girls gave me $5 change for the raffle tickets from her bra....Told him that I was never spending that $5 bill.

Glad you two made it home, and survived riding the Gorge.  It can be a very dangerous ride when the wind is blowing.  A few times I've almost been blown into the center concrete median.  Dunno what's worse.. riding in the wind or riding the Gorge at night..
