Back from 2011 rally

Made it home fine, and dry.  No rain the entire trip back which was very nice.

Good to see everyone again, and already looking forward to next year.  Hopefully the weather will play nice.

Great rally everyone!  Minus the weather of course.  Klavdy and I just made it to Harris Ranch for the night.  Just catching up on everything now.  I think this is the longest period of time I have ever gone without the internet...

Good to hear it, no tickets, no major blunders (LA Mike forgetting that a Blip tests should be performed in neutral, even if on the grass), 9.5 hours of long boring slab time but I made it home as well. Really enjoyed meeting everyone. Same spot next year Marsh?

I made it back after 9.5 hours of slab in the truck. Some light rain and lousy gas prices. I am really bummed about the rain dousing most my rides but the top side was mixing and meeting many of you that, up till now have been club names and the personalities that emanate from your writings. Now I have some faces and personal experiences to draw upon. Trinity Ranch seemed like a great place as it is located close to many really great rides. I took the 36 south to hit the 5 and I really want to run that road (when dry).

Making my first rally:
A heated room with a hot shower down the hall (including 3 good meals each day), $120.
Fuel for truck to get the bike up and back $300 approx.
New RPM fork-brace installed by Randy himself $150, (Almost cracked my helmet from my huge smile).
Meeting and riding with you all...Priceless

Just got back minutes ago. Damn rain!!!  All OK just not much fun ...

OK, We're back from dinner, now I can be more civilized  .  We had a 10 1/2 drive back from Bar717 Ranch to Simi Valley.  The drive was like the rally, kinda rain-soaked.  And CalTrans had long sections of I-5 necked from 2 lanes to 1, adding to the fun of the trip.  We did have a fun time at the rally, but the riding was rather limited, with rain on Friday & Saturday.  And long bits of heavy rain on the return trip, including into the driveway at home.

Good to see everyone, and meet some new folks as well: Frank/Flynt from San Jose, Derek & Donna from BC, Hein from BC, of course Randy & Chandra; Steve & Kim from SanFran, Henry from SanFran as well.  All good folks, and fine additions to our motley crew!  Apologies if I neglected anyone.

Here's to another rally with no (real) crashes or tickets too.    We all know there was ample opportunity for both.

And most of all, thanks to Marsh for pulling this together.  I know it didn't come off as you'd hoped, but we can only blame the weather-guesser, not you, amigo.  Thanks for all the supreme effort

Rode home with Scott and Kim in mostly dry conditions.
Fell asleep for ages once home.
Well that has to go down as the most sociable rally ever.
What a great bunch of riders and Fj fanciers.
You're all invited to the forthcoming 3rd renegade rally, which is nowhere near as elaborate an affair, but it's darn good fun.
Top job Randy at RPM on those forkbraces. Th front end has never felt so stable. (Should have been a standard fitment Mr Yamaha)

i kinda wished i didn't leave on Sat. but when i looked at the forecast for Sunday and it said HAIL, I like; wtf! i was very close to turning back and staying.
That first night i arrived, Pat immediately got me a cup of warm coffee and Marsh grabbed me some food! I was like, WOW! these group of guys are stand up people!

Really though, I had an epic time! Everyone is awesome and I'm glad I could be part of such a great community. Riding the pace with Marsh was great fun! Until the rain fits, at that point, i might as well get off the bike and walk it along the road, I'm so slow!

Home at 9pm, got pull over 30miles outside Stockton doing 70 pulling the trailer... luckily no ticket Did under 60mph the rest of the way home.

Had a great time even with the rain. Hope we get invited back next year, driving the 36hwy home makes me want to definitely come back and ride it on a bike.

Steve got me home about 9:00, we stopped for a great dinner at Harris Ranch, should have gotten the 12 OZ cut. Ate too much meat. Andy I assume those are your leathers we discovered in our car once we got home. We were relieved they did not include a bike key. Get your address to Steve.
Weather as side I had a great time. Enjoyed everyone's company and thanks Marsh for putting this together.

Special award to Henry for his tenacity to ride. A group of us (on Saturday?) turned back when the roads got to wet for comfort. He continued on and found better conditions and got a nice ride in. We took the 36 home to find the that where we turned back was at the end of the "technical section" of the road and the start of the elevation drop / dryer conditions. Good move Henry!

I did find some nice riding in the valley we were in and the local beer bar just a couple of miles away had a fun atmosphere, fantastic view, and 50 cent pool table. $1.50 pitchers too. Might be a fun time for the gang to go there after dinner. If we make it up there again. .
Steve thanks for hanging with me and especially for hauling me and the bike.
Now to find out why my tach stopped working??

Damn it Henry!!!!  I was hoping that all the pics of my Purple/Blue/Periwinkle wheel would be crappy and not worth posting. And you got me with my (OOps! I forgot my riding boots) Moon boots.

As I posted earlier, this trip was priceless, thanks for the good pics. I look forward to riding with you again. Next time you decide you are gonna ride in spite of the group decision, I am going with you.
