I have an 85 FJ1100 that decided to drain itself a few days ago by way of the vacuum line going from between carb #2 and the engine, to the ignitor. The fuel is dripping quite fast out of the ignitor box and it does not make a difference if the bike is off or on. Is this a petcock problem or should I get a carb gasket kit?

I just want to know if I should start with the petcock first or the carb kit. Sorry.

Both.....  and make sure the vac hose to the ignitor gets put on the port in the manifold rubber.  As far as the kit, the one sold by RPM Randy looks to be a good choice.

Thanks, I will make sure to let you know how it goes. I really appreciate all the information.

Well, I took the petcock apart and the black rubber piece directly behind the switch was torn in an area connecting two of the four holes. Since two of the holes are not used, I rotated the rubber piece so that the two good holes were the ones being used. Put everything back together and no leaking while in the on position!!! Looks like it is fixed for now. I think I will look for a new rubber piece though just in case. After I let it sit overnight I will go and check to see if there is any leaking. Crossing my fingers. Thanks for everyones help with this issue, you are all very kind and helpful.

did you apply vacuum to see if fuel flows when it is called for?

did you reroute your vacuum line to the ign?
