:good2: Found a 5.5"{ rear wheel, 1990 GSXR1100), hope it is in good condition. Looking forward to some decent rubber on the back. This site is not good for those wishing to save money. After 24 years without a bike, I am soooo looking towards all the mods that are possible :) Would love to find some USD forks for the front. Need to do a carb rebuild, and after taking my impressed son for a ride, I have now discovered the clutch has the inevitable FJ slip, buggar !!! So another bit to look at . . . . thank god for this site and all the wonderful advice !!

Arnie

Congrats on finding a big rear end  :mocking: for your bike.
Your clutch can likely be fixed by just adding a FJR spring on top of your stock one.
This is very easy to do, and the FJR spring is about 1/2 the price of the (same unit) FJ spring.
Check with Randy for prices, you'll also need a gasket.

Where in Oz are you?  There's probably a list member near enough to help.

Cheers,
Arnie

Thanks for that Arnie, I should be OK doing it all myself, one of the reasons I liked the idea of this bike was that it is pretty much all fix it yourself, no need for a workshop computer to tell you what's wrong and the dollars that go with all that. Plus, when I found this site I saw all the lovely possibilities for making it even better.
Rear wheel is first, the clutch slip prob will be next, and then I want to do up the carbs and replace exhaust gaskets. Already ordered the LSL handlebar kit, at 53 I need the higher riding stance as most of my riding is to and from work. The fairing has been dinged at some stage and only undercoat applied. Do you know where I can find the colour code for the pearl white?
Later down the track I would like a fatter front wheel and USD forks.
Anyway, cheers for the advice, you'll be hearing more of me no doubt.
