I noticed my speedomp.  jumps from 65 to 75 for no reason.  As soon as it passes 65 it will jump to right to 75.    Tried to take it out from the wheel thinking I would grease it but I cant get it to come out.  Do you have to pull it out from the top, and if you do, how?   I cant get my hand up there to get it.   It may not need grease at all but I thought I would look at it anyway.  Thanks for the help.

I am not sure if the stock cable has a stop on it at the top but mine pulls out from the bottom. Very tough to the get the nut at the top off. And if you do, hard to get it tight again. Pull the fairing to access it. Cable may not be the problem, the speedo might be going out. Does it make any noise? Mine would jump about seemingly at random at speeds above 45. Then it progressed to making noise and really jumping around. I made one work from an 85' for my 86'. Now my bike has only 6K miles on it.
The glass is not half full, it was engineered with a 2X safety factor.

Spend 30 secs removing the horn then you can get multigrips or the like onto the top of the speedo cable.

No noise that I can tell yet.  Remove the horn.  That sounds simple enough. I'll try that but it sounds like the speedom. maybe the problem. Seems like the FJ wants to run 75 anyway, so maybe its just trying to tell me something .
