Helo there all..

I'm Kamarul from Malaysia.. founded this forum when searching for infos regarding of this lovely bike..

For info here,, i'm the owner of 84' FJ1100 red and white color.. just bought it last year.. actually it was scrapped  .. the owner has no time to make it run again.. so i decided to purchased it.. the main prob of the bike is that the engine is total!.. So i'm on hunting for a new engine now..

Some one here at my country has offered a 1200cc engine which comes from the previous FJ1200! So, i was thinking if the engine will be fitted nicely to my FJ1100 body frame?? Has any mod need to be done to make this engine work fine (electrical of course).

I'm sorry if my question is not suitable to be posted here, but then again, i'm looking forward to ride this monster soon, coz once a month i rode to my hometown for about 320km, and for now i just ride a small 150cc Ninja bike (2stroke)..

yes the 1200cc engine will work in the 1100CC frame.

Welcome aboard.
Not sure which engine you mean.  The bike previous to the FJ1100 was the XS1100.
I think the two would swap in the frame, but there a lot of differences in these 2 engines.
The XS1100 is a 2 valve engine while the FJ is 4 valve.  You should certainly have lots of torque with the XS1100 engine, but you won't have all the top end the FJ is capable of.
Don't know it that would matter to you.  Its hard to find places to use the FJ's top end anywhere.  I don't know if you could use all the top end speed in Malyasia anywhere.

If you're going to use the FJ1200 with the FJ1100 electrics, depending on which model it is, i.e. 1TX, 3CV or 3XW, you will need to swap over the pick up coils to the twin 1100 set up except for the 1TX which is the same set up as the 1100.  
Anyway, talking of XS1100's, here's one of mine.
