Fuel line routing pic for an 87

Looking for sime pics on the fuel line routing on an 87 fj. I understand that the routing is important to the tune of the bike. Thanks Op

I have 2 87's and neither have a sticker under the seat or on the fender. I also have a hanes manual (not so hot) that does not enlighten me either

I've always routed my lines like the sticker shows.

Hey, I just knew that pic was posted over there and went and got it... tryin' to help out.     

Did you click the link to the TSB?  I think the pic there is the same as the sticker, but it's kinda hard to tell.

Excellent ( think dr. evil or mayhaps stewie) The link didnt work for me, however the pic was helpful to see the routing as well as the location of the sticker - on top of the stock airbox. My fj has been apart for the better part of 15 years!

I seem to remeber that the fuel-line routing diagrams for some years were incorrect either on the sticker (or possibly one of the manuals).

Anyone have anything more than my vauge memory on this?

Pretty sure I remember this came up on the Yahoo list at one point.  But I have not been back there in years....

A couple of people have said that, and that link works fine every time I try it.

WTF?! My bike came with none of the hoses outlined above!

What should I do now? just run it the way it came? or get some hoses, i'm assuming it runs to the airbox?







In this pic there is another outlet behind this hose, what hooks up to that?

Those are fuel pump carbs, fuel line routing is not as critical. 89 or later here in the U.S.

As Bob said you have fuel pump carbs, which have a single fuel inlet. The gravity fed carbs have 2 inlets like in the picture. The hoses you are missing are the
vent and drain hoses. I'm sure it runs fine without them but when the carbs over flow instead of the fuel leaking under the bike it will leak all over your engine.

WAKdady -- while your in there make sure the throttle cable nuts are tight in that assy that is in the middle of the carbs.  I had mine come loose and it eventually causes the cable to bend at the handle to the point where it broke.   I got home via the set of pliers holding it as I rode ... seeing your pictures I thought I would mention it.

Dan - Yes I remember that some of the stickers on the '87 were incorrect.  Learned the hard way when I actually tried to route it per the sticker.  Put it back the way I found it and it was fine.  Not sure, but I think there was a recall or tech bulletin to put new stickers on the airbox with the correct routing.
