i was thinking about changing the brake and headlights to l.e.d. lights, is it as simple as plugging them in or is there some wiring involved in the different type of light.
if its easy, do you have any brand recommendations?

When all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail.

Yes the rear light plugs into the existing wiring harness, if you go for the option of intergrated indicators then they will have to be attached separately. You will have to file away a small amount of the tail unit to get the new light to fit properly but rest assured it is a simple job, it shouldn't take more than an hour start to finnish. The link below should give you anidea how it is done.

Not any more. I am having the light made with intergrated turn signal function built into the light. It is a plug and play, no mods other than the grinding of the tail section to fit the light.

Unlike the modification link posted, there is no need for any type of resistor or modification to the wiring on the unit that I sell to make the turn signal work.

Chris,
Take a look at my website; www.RPMRacingCa.com. It has the lights and a host of other products for the FJ.

As far as the headlight, an HID light is the way to go, and you can find those all over the internet, just need to shop for the best price.

Ha!    There is no such thing as an HID regular light bulb!  Those are just regular bulbs with a lame-ass blue tint.  Just type "HID" into the search field on this forum and you'll get lots of good info...I just did and came up with many threads, including this one (I give a small demo video of the best / least expensive HID kit I could find): http://www.fjowners.com/index.php?topic=2132.0

Cool. I've got some extra patterns of the red lexan saved.

I have more fun riding and working on my bikes, than chasing that little fucking white ball around the golf course. :dash2:

If you can ride and have fun, it gives you an excuse for having a score that looks like you went bowling rather than golfing.

I need a calculator to add up all the numbers for my handicap, so I understand.
