I have searched and search to no end, and found the Holy Grail of FJ sites!!!  Whats up guys, James from Kentucky (recently moved from Florida).  Little about myself, I started with an FJ1100 about 10 years ago, and ended up throwing a rod racing with a Ducati 929.  Was doing quite well against it, until that happened.  Went a few years without a bike, and when I had a chance to get another, I was so in love with the FJ, I found a FJ1200 that I couldn't pass up.  I have absolutely no experience or knowledge when it comes to the bike itself, other than with the right parts, they are quite a beast on the road.  My FJ1100, I would take to a motorcycle shop once a month, and get something else done to it. (custom exhaust, bored engine, Dynojet Stage 3 kit, along with many others I couldn't tell you.) I would just hand him the money and say have fun.  Unfortunately, I'm no longer in Florida, and I don't have that option any longer with the new FJ.  So I'm at a loss as to how I can turn this new bike in to the beast I once owned.  This is where I hope you guys will help out.  So if anyone can give me a run down as to which parts I should have installed, and the order in which they need it, I would be much appreciative.  I look forward to taking my comfortable touring bike out, and make all the teens in the area a little peeved with their R1's and Ninjas.

Thank you in advanced, and thank you for this wonderful site!

Welcome to the group!

Check out the modifications section of the website..... i personally upgraded the brakes and suspension before i built my 1349CC engine.

You may also want to check out the rally section and come on to the spring rally in Boone NC.... you can see all kinds of mods in person and have some fun and great riding at the same time !

see you there :good2:

1349cc???, Built from a 1200??? If this is the case, you must fill me in on the details!  Brakes and Suspension was the direction I was going for also, *what good is a quick bike if it doesn't handle and stop, lol*  I have a few other things I need to figure out first.  Like the constant vibration noises coming from the body parts *replacing the dampers I believe*, and although the engine runs great, it does not sounds solid to me at all, slight taps as if the carbs are not in tune with each other.  Someone told me that I wasted my money on a Dynojet kit, and could be jetted by a shop here with their own jets for much better performance.  Still don't understand that, but if Im going to have the carbs retuned, I might as well upgrade them while they are in there.  Just my thought.  I am definitly going to look into the rally, never been on a ride before, always just did my own thing and soloed it. *Although bike week in daytona was always fun*  Looking forward to talking with all of you, and building a great bike out of an already superb machine!

Some of us are a lot more familiar with THAT place than we ever wanted to be... :diablo:

Welcome to the asylum.

I go through London at least once every time I go to/from the Spring Rally. Gotta stop at Dogpatch, y'know. :good2:

Hehe, the dogpatch has some of the most interesting little things.  Visit there quite often when I want a good laugh.  So Randy, what makes you so familiar with london, lol.
