I'm almost 30, and live in New Jersey. I know cars very well (motor swaps, Turbo installs) but I'm new to the bike scene other than the dirt bikes and 3-wheelers I had as a kid. I know I have a lot to learn, so why not start here.

I just got a beautiful '85 FJ1100 in Oct '10 with 16k, as my first street bike. She has a fresh paint job with hand laid pin-stripes, and V&H 4-1 exhaust, AND AN ORIGINAL LOWER FAIRING(sorry had to scream that since I learned how hard they are to find) But she needs some TLC. I have rode her a few times and I get many looks from other riders. I dont know if thats in a good way or not, but I do know about this bike and I think maybe they are just amazed at how good she looks for being such a classic. I have no want for a newer bike, I like this bike for its ride as well as history. Cant wait to take nice long rides to the beach on her.

Bought for - $1200

Things to take care of:

Tires
Brakes
Fork Seals
Torn Airbox-Carb boots
Tuning
Maybe 2nd gear(Its a rough shift)

Well all right!   WHazzup SLick ! (sorry had to go there )

sounds like you found a pearl.... post up some pics and lets see her .

One thing about these bikes is the relative few issues they have.... to go along with their timeless form.

AND the wonderful engine.... of course!

Welcome to the group and KOokaloo!

Here is one pic for now, it doesnt have the lower fairing on yet. I have to get the $50 in hardware to mount it, but it was painted with the bike and is ready to go.

The day I got her...

I like the colors.  Shar looking paint.

Thanks,
