i guess if I am going to be a pain is the === with my question I had better introduce myself

I my be the only one hear that was not  pleased with the purchase of my fj. I sold my 750 fazer to buy the fj 1100 and was hoping for a big improvement in in power and felt short changed in that department. The bike did grow on me and as a sport tourer it was a major improvement

I did grow to love the bike and put 65,000 km on it touring through the USA and Mexico. I parked the bike in 92 to fix the  2nd gear and then started in a new carere as a guide and outfitter which pretty much kept me busy during the riding season.

I sold the outfit in 2004 and tried to get back into riding by buying a honda ns400r it was not the bike for a small northern town with only 1 way in and 1 way out so into the shed it went  What to do? Duel sport and take advantage of all the back roads and trails great fun but I still missed street riding and touring so last spring I tried a yamaha yzf750r  great bike but not a sport tourer for a 48 year old guy Sold it an spent a lot of time thinking on what to try next and the only answer is fix the old fj

If all goes well i will be working 7 days a week until mid march and then I will rebuild the fj

So there it is my life story

Welcome to the fire Scott,
Theres a ton of FJ info here and a good group of folks willing to help out where they can. I hope you can bring your FJ1100 back to life again and enjoy the experiance.

Welcome Scott, don't worry about being a pain in the ass. They seem to tolerate me here.

.... a sport tourer for a 48 year old guy ......fix the old fj....

Scott

That seems to be a fairly common theme here, you'll fit right in.
Welcome.
