Flycut pistons, undercut first gearset, possibly an undercut second gear pair....

No fun stuff, I'm afraid... that stuff's already ready to go  :yahoo:

My Delkevic slip-ons I talked about in my xjr1300 thread.

When all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail.

Need to figure out which seal is leaking behind the sprocket cover and replace it.  Maybe paint the new to me set of side covers (that have all the tabs in place).. Have a couple of other ideas, but also have to rebuild an 1100 engine so that will eat up a fair amount of funds..

Already got 'em..... a set of (GASP) UNI pods, iridium plugs and orings for the float valves. Gotta do the work tomorrow, as well as check/adj the valve clearances.......   then ride her the rest of the winter.   :diablo:  Gotta love living in Tucson.... :dance2:

Need to figure out which seal is leaking behind the sprocket cover and replace it.

Look carefully. I had a customer bring in a car with an oil leak from that area a couple of months ago. He had replaced the trans output, clutch pushrod and shift shaft seals as well as the o-ring on the plastic neutral indicator; it still had a severe leak.

I ran it for a few minutes and noticed it appeared to be coming from the trans seal. I replaced it again since he used a drift to drive it in and it looked pretty beat. Ran it again and the same amount of oil leak. It was definitely coming from the output shaft area, not the pushrod or shifter.

I then remembered the case bolt on the top (#30) has a moisture drain hole. I lifted up the carb heat shield and started the engine while watching that bolt from the top. I noticed immediately that the oil was coming from around the bolt head. Put a socket on it and it was about 1.5 turns out from touching the case. Re-torqued and the leak was solved.

He was there the 2 hours I worked on it and he told me he had over 10 hours working on it trying to find and fix the leak which he never did.

Thanks for the tips Randy.  I'll be sure to check there first.

The leak I have isn't much at all and it only drips on the ground after the bike has been sitting a while.

Actually the FJ gave you the ticket for Christmas...  :pardon:

Be nice or she'll do it again.

Picked up (bloody heavy too!) a 86 motor for a spare but I've seen some cheap frames around so a stripped down cafe-ish thing could be on the cards.Could be a nice project for the winter.
