I had to laugh, recalling the number of times people have asked me.... "What kind of bike is that?"

Duuh....

List the *all* the *exterior* locations on the *oem* 1984 or 1985 FJ1100 where the word "Yamaha" appears. Yamaha was obviously proud of these machines.

A jelly donut for the first correct answer.

<edit> only the "exterior" locations, no need to tear the motor apart or remove the tank or side panels....

before or after mods?

Duh you said oem, sorry

Travis398

I would guess 9 obvious ones, but I am sure if I lifted covers here and there, I could probably find several more.

Off the top of my head, on my '90:  Both master cyls, both sides of the tank, above the headlight, on the edge of the tail, both sides of the engine..... can't think of any others.

I think it varies by year, also...

Frank is close....but no cigar.  Yes, Yamaha is on the aluminum footpegs. Not sure that it's on the steel ones 'thou...

Let me sweeten the pot. I have a Motion Pro carb stick that I will send to the winner...

Ya gotta do some work for this and *list* the locations like Hans did. No WAG on numbers....

For example:

Gas tank.... 2
Engine....... 2   etc, etc....

That's awesome of you Pat!!   :good2:  Makes me wish I had an OEM 84 in the garage...I'd be on the floor crawling all over that bike right now!

Pat Conlon

What made me think of this was that I noticed with my '84, and all the mods, I only have "Yamaha" left in 5 exterior locations.....Got me thinking...
I love my new Morgan Carbtune. It's time to let my trusty MP mercury carb stick go to a loving home...

Randy....shit can't you follow instructions?  :blum1: Is that a WAG?  Prove it big boy...list 'em
FYI, it's closer but it's not the number I have, but then again I forgot about the footpegs...everyone add 2 locations for the aluminum footpegs.

In the event that the winner does not want the carb stick, I'll send it to the next runner up.....and so on..
