Hi guys

Thought I'd better introduce myself, I've been lurking on the Yahoo group for about a year but never posted so as I find these kinds of boards easier to use I thought I'd throw myself in at the deep end and post a hello.

So here goes, I'm Kerry from Yorkshire in England.  If you've not already gathered from my signature, I'm a member and club official of the UK FJ Owners Club (www.fjclub.co.uk).  I'm also a moderator on the UK FJ forum (www.fjfjrbiker.co.uk) as well as the UK FJ Race Team photographer (www.fjracer.com) so am a busy girl and heavy into FJ's.

I've been riding bikes now for about 11 years and have always been a yamaha girl.  Started on a 600 diversion (seca II) but then about 6 months later I test rode a new GSXR1000 K1 before they had even gone on sale here in the UK for RiDE magazine when they used to let readers try bikes which persuded me to buy something a little faster than the seca so not wanting to be too adventurous I got a Fazer 600 (small FZ1 not sure if you guys get it), next was a Yamaha XJR1300 (street fighter version of an FJ basically, not available in the USA), then the FJR (I've had two), since then I've added my own FJ (which is quite trick too but not a trick as the racers) to the garage along side the FJR.

Those of you who have visited Barry Edwards's FJ Mods site will recognise my FJ as it is the one that used to belong to him known as tyddles.  HWMBO also has his own FJ and FJR so I guess we're a Yamaha family with 4 in the garage.

I'm hoping you guys don't mind a girl hanging around, as I can give as good as I get, I also enjoy red meat, beer, bikes etc and I have tits (does that count) so don't mind those either but don't know much about guns sorry, well I do live in the UK.

Look forward to watching this forum grow.

Kerry,

you go girl....... ;D

i really like your attitude and that you are really into motorcycles.

i totally agree this web format is much easier to use and i think we all are gonna get along a whole lot better by having different sections to post into.

i'm looking forward to your input and wit ( thanks for reminding us that you have titties  as that adds bonus points 8)

Thanks for the welcome Denis, Frank and Eric, sorry how rude of me not to post the photos.  More can be found on my website which is in my signature but here's a sample for ya.

My FJ (Tyddles, no I didn't name her that), currently having a major rebuild to fit a wiseco 1314 kit so doesnt actually look like this at the moment as she's in 1000 pieces.

My FJR (Your Problem)

His FJ (Gertrude)

His FJR (Ermintrude)

QuoteIt will be nice to hear how things are in the UK for the FJ crowd over there.

We have a very active crowd over here Eric, there's currently over 1800 members in the club nationwide, with the majority still owning FJ's so its a great scene.  We have an excellent social side with rideouts all over the country once every two weeks from March to November as well as the race team dates so it can get hectic so I might not get to be as active on here as I'd like but I'll try.

Quotei really like your attitude and that you are really into motorcycles.

Thanks Frank, although some over here might not agree but that's another story for another time  ;)

Me and him all togged up for the club xmas party

But this is more like it (sadly the red FJR has now been replaced with a matching black one ::) well I am a girl)

Hi Dean, yes I know who you mean, haven't heard his name for ages, he didn't live that far from us from what I remember, I know my partner Mark (markfjer) spoke to him but I never met him and sadly Mark has lost touch with him I think but I'll check.

Glad you like um.  We get all over the place on them, this year we have some major trips already planned to Germany where we meet with the FJ club over there, Ireland and the Isle of Man as well as a number of the UK weekends and race dates.

Here's a pic of the race team for ya if you've not seem them.  They compete against any pre 89 production motorcycles. The main competition is against the Yamaha FZR1000 (there is even an OWO1) and the Suzuki GSXR 1100 slabsider.

They took a 1, 2, 3 in the championship for 2008.  Number 120 is ridden by Phil "Doc" Hacker the founder of the FJ club who won for 2008.

For fun they also go out with the powerbikes to practice which includes new R1's and GSXR's, despite the younger competition they still manage to finish in the mid to top half of the class.  Not too shabby for a few 25 year old FJ11's.

For the 2009 there will be 6 FJ's competing.

back in '04, when all the robot competition shows were on, i remember seeing andy the pugh on the british one, his was "team smidsy" (for us americans, Sorry Mate I Didn't See You, apparently a motorcycle-friendly acronym).  i still remember one of andy's rules of thumb when riding a motorcycle, the topic was what gear you wore when, and to paraphrase him, "no matter what, always wear gloves.  if your hands are messed up from a get-off, you can't do anything.  you can't type, you can't eat, you can't wipe your butt."  words to live by, no doubt.  ( :

Yep I remember seeing that too, Mark and Andy were forever emailing each other as Mark's a bit of a techy too but then they just lost touch.  Mark's in bed at the moment as its nearly midnight over here so can't ask him till the morning so I'll try to remember and agree when it comes to gloves.

Anyway speaking of bed, I suppose I'd better go too, before I turn into a pumpkin so I'll catch you guys later.
