I have been lurking for a while and thought I'd better jump in and intro myself.  As you can tell my typing skills etc, aren't the best because I've been out honing my riding skills on my new (to me 89 FJ). This is only my second bike, my other being an XR250 which is still in the shed. Call it what you like late starter midlife crisis but am absolutely loving it.  My brother left his ZX6 with me last Xmas which really got the bug going.  Realizing the hunched position and my wife driving me into the tank with even the slightest amount of brake was not for me, began the search for my new steed. With a very conservative budget I spotted an 86 FJ just down the road. After a test ride that would have left a seasoned rider shaken let alone a relative new comer [front end wobbles - zero front brakes], I didn't let this put me off. Down to Brisbane the next weekend to look at an 89 which was the one for me. Have just clocked up 2000klms on it and with the wealth of information available on this forum have just ordered a carb pro tool to sync the carbs, to get rid of that vibration.  Who knows may even be up for a mod or two.

Welcome aboard,

Fair few Fj's up in that area and you'll probably hear from them soon now that you've outed yourself :-)
If you've got any questions about your bike, just ask away, someone here will be able to help.

Cheers,
Arnie

Latte Run ?? What kind of big bad bikies are you?  I think your numbers are large enogh to form a chapter of some 1% group, or at least a Ulyssis brigade. :-)
Down here, or in SA or NSW they'd look at banning you :-)

Ride safe (between the puddles),
Arnie

Did you stop at Kanyana Park (Dulong road turn-off)?

I saw a mob there around midday on Sunday. Seemed like 1 bloke on a Rocket missed the turn and was just idling down the range waiting for others to catch up.

Cheers Darran
