I don't think Marsh banned you, and while a motion was made for such, it never went anywhere.  Don't leave, just play nice & all will be OK.

Yes I did ban him.
Fair enough.  I didn't know (or want to) the backstory.  Now that I do, I'm done with him too.  Next!

OK, so don't ban me but....... :)

I to do have had a couple problems with the forum software.  Not so much on my desktop computers with lots of horsepower, but when I'm in the garage with my netbook or posting with my iTouch.  I think it's the 2 rows of animated smileys that are using up my netbooks horsepower.  Also the typing window doesn't scroll up on my netbook, maybe due to the limited screen resolution.  Not too much of a problem, just have check my typing after the fact.  It is, however, nothing to get my shorts in a knot about or go about being a dickhead.

Cheers

Clarification: I received an e-mail from UJM letting me know (calling me a "bald faced liar, a joke and a small person" to name a few) that it was not he who originally posted the poll up on top (absolutely irrelevant to my point).  However he did admit to changing it.  That's the unethical part.

I had the forum setup so that the original poster of a poll could edit it.  Somehow this also applied to the original creator of the entire thread as well - hence his ability to edit the poll.  Because of this incident, I now have made it so that no one can edit a poll in the future - so make sure you get it right the first time!

I also had a problem with the site being slow to load and change between posts . took forever to view and reply. I corrected the problem my self by getting a better computer.
it wasn't just the fj site but others as well , so I don't think it was a software problem with the site , just an old pos computer slow as a covered wagon.
All is well now with no problems. :good2:

Only problem I've got with this forum software is occasionally I get a session timeout when I hit mark all read.  Seems to be inconsistent and it varies according to which box i'm using at the time, and it comes and goes depending on what patches I've got on, so I figure it's just ubuntu releasing stuff that breaks bits here and there.  Not much issue, really.

I suspect that this is due to the fact that the site is not optimized for mobile devices. Don't blame the software. Basically, it requires a secondary site and a redirect when a mobile device is detected. It would be up to Marsh to make this happen, if possible; after all, it's his site (and thank you, Marsh).

Personally, I don't see the need.

The "posting field" not scrolling problem does happen with certain versions of Internet Explorer.  As near as I can tell it does not happen with Firefox, Safari, Chrome or Opera browsers.  I also think it is limited to older versions of Internet Explorer.  I do not know a way to fix this.  I usually post with Firefox or Chrome.

Also, this site works fine (smileys and all) on my HP Netbook (granted I did upgrade the RAM from 1G to 2G).  Try the google Chrome browser - it should fix up your Netbook issues too.

Also, FWIW this site works and displays great on my Google Nexus One cellphone - even with the default browser.  It re-sizes when I turn the display orientation and fills the screen just like on my computer.  Even the smileys load pretty fast.

Most of these issues with PHP websites are usually remedied by upgrading your browser.  IE 6 is ancient and sucks!  (even worse than this forum software)  ;
