I spent 2 hours sanding and polishing this piece right after getting it from the post office.
Very pleased with the way it looks and it gave the FJ a much tighter feel in the front end with a more solid turn-in.
I also checked for clearance with the bottom of the fairing under max braking, and it comes close, but does NOT touch.

Well worth the effort in my opinion to get this installed!

I felt that the Renntecs made an equal difference.

Besides the protection, they stiffen the frame up a bit.     :good:

Now that I know they ARE stainless steel, I will polish them in the near future.

What the hell are you two talking about??

Kidding... In my case, it was a play on words, you know humor, right?  [a message whose ingenuity or verbal skill or incongruity has the power to evoke laughter].

In Pat's, he was being self-referential in that he's, let's just say, a bit OCD about his FJ.  To include all sorts of polishing... Look at his profile picture for crying out loud.

OK, so it evoked no such laughter? -a guy can try....

LOL!
Shit yes, I can relate to the OCD when it comes to polished metal.
It all started for me back in the late 70's, cleaning up a set of aluminium slot mags for my dads truck, and it has only gotten worse for me over ythe years.
Anybody that knows me very well, know that I just can't leave something, "unpolished".

I laughed alright!  I thought you were warning us NOT to share a cabin with him at a rally!
