Hello from Knoxville TN!

A craigslist find, I bought a 84 FJ1100 just before the Labor Day weekend. Now I'm going over the bike, fixing things as I come to them.

I am amazed at the simplicity and access to the bike's workings! An easy fixer-upper with clean paperwork too.

If all the parts ordered come in a timely manner I should see those who attend the ECFR on that weekend, and maybe partake in a ride or two.

I am fortunate to live in a rural section of Knoxville; turn right out the driveway and I'm just over an hour away from the Dragon, turn left and I'm 2 minutes away from very Dragon-like backroads. My first trip down 129, it wasn't too long before I was saying to myself "I've seen all this before". Dragon-schmagon, it holds no fascination from me.

After I clear the mechanical items on the FJ I'll start giving it new livery, green and black to pay homage to the Hard Knox Roller Girls! That's my plan, anyway.

Welcome to the group....  :hi:

i know what you mean about the dragon... we got tons of roads around here that are very twisty and smooth...... however the CHerohala is one of the finest roads i ever laid a tire onto.

Green ?   FJ ?????

i think i just threw up in my mouth a bit..... please think hard about this decision !  :unknown:

Congrats on the purchase and welcome to the group! The FJ has been a really great bike to ride regularly. It gets loads of attention from folks who been around bikes for awhile.

My best friend and riding partner is originally from Maryville. We're planning a trip that way this fall so he can show me all of these great roads he's known all his life. I've ridden the Dragon before, but there are tons of roads there that can compete.
