Im in the process of swopping wheels on my fj1200 1tx (early 1200),and would like to ask you advice regarding the front sprocket???
Which ones are you using, ideally for a 6inch rim??? I visited my local motorcycle shop, where the guy behind the counter was no help,he wouldnt even let me look at the sprocket catalogue!
He'll not any more business from me. :diablo:

Ive just realised that Chris gave me some great info on my modification thread on this site, saying he used an R1 wide tyre kit sprocket(ok tire....).lol.
What im really looking for is a production motorcycle part, straight off the shelf.  :bye2:

A sprocket from a 1986 honda VF1000R fits our FJ's and has a nice offset that i know works with a 5.5" rim and would probably be a good starting spot ..... you just have to either mill or grind one side flat (the sprocket has shoulders on both sides and one has to go to get the C/S nut and lock washer back on.

KOokaloo!

It a long time since ive been on here, although i do think this is one of the best fj sites in the world! A bit of an update is due i think.
Today i received some fork seals in the post for the front end which is from a suzuki tl1000,not a yamaha r1,so they need fitting,i need a rear sprocket for the wheel which isnt a zx7r but possibly a zx9r (5.50inch wide).
Updates soon.
