i'm getting the hell out of dodge next thursday afternoon, headed for devils tower, wyoming.  my apologies, i'll be riding the fjr instead of the fj.

2600 miles round trip:

day one-thursday-420 miles
day two-friday-900 miles
day three-saturday-touring around devils tower, the badlands, wherever else
day four-sunday-head home-800 miles
day five-monday-500 miles.

i'm in a koa kabin on night one; tent nights two and three at devils tower, and a comfy hotel room night four.

regrettably, i won't have the time to take backroads, but i still look forward to not being at home for a few days, being on the road by myself, seeing devils tower, and trying to get in the middle of nowhere to see the stars at night.

this should be interesting...

Since you're going to be in the area, you might want to add Mt. Rushmore and/or Crazy Horse to the trip.

There is a huge KOA about 3 miles west of Mt. Rushmore, headed toward Crazy Horse / Deadwood.

Sorry you need some serious routing help!

day one-thursday-1100 miles to Rapid City
day two-three-four side trip up through the BigHorn, Black Hills, Mt Rush, Devils Tower, Spearfish Valley, Badlands, etc
day five-home 1100 miles

It all starts in ND!!!    :yahoo:  Put some miles on that sucker! She'll love you for it  :diablo:
