Folks-

So the adventure bug has bitten once again.  Here's the story:  On the morning of Thursday Aug 5th, a few of us begin riding north, with a goal of hitting the southern Adirondacks.  We will frolic through, in and around the Adirondack, park for two glorious full days of riding and such, (perhaps hike a mountain?) and return, well rested, with our souls having been properly fed, Sunday Aug. 8th.  Baring catastrophe, this will happen, non-refundable tickets have already been bought.   So now that I have a destination and dates, I figured I'd throw it out there to see if anyone here;
a) has any input on particularly good/ must-ride roads,
b) intel on areas to avoid etc.,
c) and possibly, if it can be made to work, have a few of you folks attend some or all of it.

Although I have not yet booked any accommodations we'll like do cabins/ KOA/ something like that.  I'll spend cycles on that this week.  Evenings, like at rallies I guess, will involve a bottle of mescal (or two), a camp fire, and food.  Days will involve riding most of the day, stopping a few times for food etc. open twisty roads.

We are medium to medium-fast riders, +/- 20-30% over the speed limit, roughly.  We seek out the twistiest stuff we can find and oh, by the way, there will not be an FJ in the bunch.  I'm generally a more the merrier kind of guy, so as long as you're not a squid (reckless) or are extremely inflexible, (or an axe murderer, please no axe murderers) then I say come on in, the water's fine!  Ultimately, I figure list-related attendees is a long shot, but you never know, so I thought I'd throw it out there.

Anyway, do let me know if you have any information of must/ must-not ride roads up that way, and whether you have any interest in meeting up.  I know some of you are up that way.

Stay well.

This was a great trip.  1000 miles, found some good roads, had great weather, saw some old friends.  We even stopped, parked the rage machines, and hiked a mountain, Cascade.  Excellent hike, great view.

Camping, easy rider style, off on a abandoned dirt road....

Turns out there's not a huge number of technical roads in the Adirondacks, but if you want fast sweepers, there's LOADS of them.

Beautiful country though.

Anyway, I was glad to get out and stomp around on the motorcycle with friends.

Cheers!
