I ordered them from Traxxion(out of Georgia), when I ordered my new springs, and cartridge emulators........they install very easy. One bolt clamps them on from the back.....you just have to be careful exactly how you position them or they might contact the fairing under full compression....mine just barely clear the fairing at all steering positions.

I cannot remember what year R1 mirrors they are, but I basically used my lower mount, and the stalk and mirror from the R1...........First, the R1 mirrors are riveted to the lower mount with a series of spring disks......I drilled out the rivet(be careful, the spring disks go "Ping" when you get through the rivet)  Then i drilled out the stalk so the FJ bolt will go through....then you stack approx 4 or 5 spring disks that came with the R1 lower, against the hole in the stalk, and slide it into the stock FJ lower, and tighten up the bolt.....(I can't remember if i had to drill the hole in the spring disks, or if it was already large enough for the FJ bolt to go though)......Then I trimmed the R1 rubber boot to fit around the FJ lower mount....
I like them. They don't vibrate At speed.

I like the E21 side cases alot! they aren't too large or bulky, but still hold quite a bit of stuff if you pack wisely....
I just used everything to get to the West Coast Rally. Combined with the V46 top case, they are perfect fit for the FJ...

All work was done by myself, except for some machining to the cushdrive, spacer collar, and caliper bracket (I had a local machine shop help with that bit. he only charged me $75)

How much taller is your windscreen than stock and what supplier did you get it from? Need to replace my windscreen due to a crack and been having a hard time deciding how tall to go.

    Not sure who the manufacturer of the winshield is? It was on the bike when I bought it......I have had it off a few times, and don't see any info on it anywhere...........It fits right. I assumed it was a Yamaha smoke tinted one, but I figured if it was, it would say Yamaha on it some where. So I don't know?

    I believe the R1 calipers are off a '02 or '03 R1.......just before they went to "Radial" mount calipers......
The mirrors I couldn't really say........I sourced them from a seller on Ebay, and the picture looked like the mounting had the correct angle i was looking for.......I wanted more modern mirrors, but wanted to keep the modded parts as "Yamaha" as possible....I see some have gone with CBR mirrors, but i stuck with the R1 bits. I knew i could modify them as needed.

which directions did you follow for that rear wheel swap? i am going to get a FZR1000 rear wheel but am not sure of what other parts i will be needing.

This is where I started, and for the most part......The instructions I used.

Scroll down the page until you come to where it says "FZR1000 EXUP rear wheel conversion"

However, I did find it necessary to make changes to a couple of the different areas of the "Cushdrive" that need to be machined.
The article also does not mention anything about machining the factory FJ caliper bracket.......Material needs to be removed from the swingarm side of it.
Luckily I found a really good machine shop nearby, that did all the work involved for only $75........and that included bringing the caliper bracket, and cushdrive back to him to take additional material off.

I had planned on doing a writeup post on how I did mine, with pictures, and measurements when I got some time..............Seems like I should probably do it now, cause there seems to be alot of interest  in doing this mod currently.
I saw your post in my rear rotor thread, and the brake torque arm works great, and allows you to use the factory bolts, and mounting points. And since it is originally designed for a Vmax, it's plenty strong enough for the FJ.

did you have to raise the rear end somehow?
I want to do FZR1000 wheels myself, but i keep hearing some people talk about raising the rear for some reason.
I wouldnt know how this could be accomplished if it needed done.

Are you going to do a write up on the work?

With a great amount of guidence from Alan and the web site he linked to, I am making a thread on the swap, and in doing so I'm including pictures and measurments along the way.
I'm just now at the point of getting the machine work done, and everything is going smoothly up to this point.
