Greetings all,

Happy to join a new community, and what better excuse than a motorcycle! In this case it's a 1987 FJ1200, so dark blue it's almost black. I have been a rider and an aficionado for the last 20 years or so, and somewhere along the way I've developed an appreciation for air/oil-cooled bikes, thus I didn't need much convincing to make an offer and take this FJ home. I like to tinker around, and pull stuff apart - sometimes I even put them back together correctly!
Anyhow, what fascinated me about this specific FJ was thee fact that it was in first paint (given that it shows age) and that except for an aftermarket rear shock, an MRA windshield, and some silly scooter mirrors, it's all original and everything is working. I haven't fount a single home-made electrical connection or extra wire, and bike is running smoothly and with gusto.
I hope to use this platform to learn about the FJ, as a resource for parts and advice, and hopefully I contribute with something from my own experience.
I attached a few pics. My FJ has 91000km, and is a polar opposite to my slightly modded f1150gs I've been trashing around for the last two years.
I admit I'm a Honda and a MotoGuzzi fanboy but I've been known to show up on a Yamaha in the past, and considering my initial impressions of the FJ, it's going to become a regular thing.

Looking forward to mingling with the crowd, talk to you in some other thread  :good2:
