New member to the boards here, my name is Bill and I reside in Central Va, Have been riding bikes since I was about 11. Over the years have owned pretty much the entire spectrum of bikes from pure sports, cruisers, sport tourers, full dressers, dual sports and moto cross.

For the most part have been strictly a Yamaha man since the early 80's with the exception of a few non Yamaha dual sport bikes. Bought my first FJ1200 actually a few weeks pre-delivery to the dealers in 1986. Sold that one long ago but now have two 1986 model FJ1200's, one rather nice with currently about 16,000 on the clock and another with 23,000 that although not quite as nice could be put back into nice status fairly easily but mainly considered a parts source if needed for the number one bike.

In past years have spent quite a bit of money and time destroying perfectly good race rubber on the twisty mountain roads and the track using FZR1000's and R1's as the destructive weapons but as I have progressed in age and come to the conclusion that I probably will not bounce as well these days with an unwanted introduction to meeting the pavement and not to mention the price of a set of new race tires every day my current riding is on my FJ1200 and is curtailed to more of riding places like the BRP and keeping the speeds down to at least a level that will allow my drivers license to safely remain in my pocket rather than being handed to the judge in some obscure little county seat courthouse.

Just looking around the board here it seems like a friendly group of folks with a lot of information.

Live just outside Lynchburg. yes on 56, also 151, 60. 501, 130 and those are just on the North side of town. Ride the BRP fairly frequently. 60 and 501 are a blast as well but the po po has a lot more presence now than in years pass. If I had to pick a favorite out of those it would probably be 60.

Well then someday we should meet up at Otter Creek for lunch sometime.

Sure, sounds like a good idea. Let me know in advance one weekend that you are going to be up this way and we will set something up.
