Greetings. Just inherited, well given my cousins 1992 FJ.

Thanks I think, needs some work, starting with carb rebuilds, no power down low, a bit of a miss too.

He got himself a FJR 5 years ago so its gone mostly unused.

Got the shop manual, ready to dive in and purchase some parts. Anyone know the main jet size for a stock 92?

And we'll I'm at it, best way to drain fuel besides what's in shop manual?

Anyways thought I'd say hello, should be a fun ride.

Hello Craig, welcome to the forum, where are you located?

Due to EPA regs all FJ's are jetted on the lean side. A Quick Look at the online parts microfiche shows the 1992 main jet to be a #110. (See #13)  and your pilot jet to be #37.5 (see #10)
https://www.partzilla.com/catalog/yamaha/motorcycle/1992/fj1200d/carburetor.
Better running can be had by going up one size in your jets, #112.5 main and #40 pilot.

If you are stateside you want to use the RPM screw and o ring kit for your carbs. The best $25 you will ever spend. http://www.rpmracingca.com/proddetail.asp?prod=carbkit

To drain the tank, pull the inlet hose off the fuel pump. You will want to invest in a new fuel filter.

Pat pretty much covers your carb issues.
