RPM fork brace

Hey all,
I've socked my new fork brace allens pretty hard, but have a gap between the two halves.  Is this right or do I need to get out the breaker bar?

No need to over tighten and possibly pinch the tubes and restrict fork travel. For 6mm x 1.0 Socket Cap head, the torque spec is 17Nm (dry), 13 (lubricated, blue thread lock?).
The glass is not half full, it was engineered with a 2X safety factor.

On 99% of them there is a gap. That section of the form tubes are finished on a belt sander and are not close to the same size or round for that matter. If you over tighten, as Mark mentioned, you can squeeze the upper bushing and create drag on the fork travel.

Looks good. Be aware that the powder coat, now on the inside surface of the brace, makes it slightly smaller. Worth paying attention when you reinstall.

A proper layer of powder coat is about .003/.005 of an inch. Since it is on the inside, two layers make the hole in the brace .006/.010 of inch smaller.
