While I was disassembling the FJ rear suspension today.......I noticed something didn't look quite right.....
I am pretty sure the metal cap with the rubber gasket is supposed to go on the inside of the dogbone....(can I blame Mr. PO since this is the first time I've touched it?).....The one on the other side is missing completely. luckily the sleeve and the needle bearings are not siezed or dry.

Does anyone know where I could get a couple new ones quickly? or does anyone have a couple used ones in good shape I could score rather quickly? I don't want to put this back together without them....

OK, so a quick look at the parts fiche does not show any of these cap washers on the inside of the dogbones. Upper or lower. The frame pivot had both of them installed, so I guess this one was an extra somehow that got placed where I found it. :unknown:
All the rest of the parts appear to be there accourding to the parts fiche.....so I can start reassembling it after i clean and re-grease.

I am guessing you are talking about the part in the middle of the pic below the lower shock mount.

You know.....your description of it sounds awfully like its the end cap from the swingarm pivot (looks a bit like it too!)

Actually....looking at the picture called "Before(YUKK!)" in the "what you did to your bike" thread..... I can see that the left hand swing arm pivot end cap is in place......not sure about the right hand side tho.

Yes, I double checked.  Both of the swingarm end caps are in place, and the 2 end caps for the (transfer arm-to-frame pivot) are there also. This extra one i found looks to be a spare for one of those.....it was damaged anyway due to where it was placed (and ridden) not sure what it was doing there, but I'll discard it, and carry on.
