Monday...8" of snow. Saturday, 60*'s+, no snow.
Took the bike out for a ride, stopped to have lunch with a friend. Put my helmet on the tank, fired the bike up, and before I knew it the helmet fell to the ground. Faceshield busted out and broke the mounts in the helmet. EFFFFFF!
Rode about 15miles or so to the nearest bike shop (yamaha) with the shield in my backpack. There, I realized it was broken. Got some cheapo sunglasses and headed home. I have a spare, but it's blue. I won't match. Damnit! lol
Ah well...Going to order replacement base plates Monday since I won't be able to ride next weekend anyways.

*Moral of the story, don't let your helmet vibrate off the tank.

Note to self, helmets cant fall off of the ground.........

Sometimes I will slip my helmet over one of the mirrors when getting gas, other than that most times I stop I put my helmet on the ground. It hard to make it fall off the ground unless ya live in Cali durring an eathquake..

Sorry about yer lid...

Been there, done that, It's really loud to Huh ;)
Fortunately I had an expert angler along to fish the locking disk out from under the shed where it was hiding. Thanks Randy ;D

It was way too early in that trip to be looking for helmet parts, so I was motivated...

My Dad would laugh at anyone who referred to me as an 'expert' angler.    ::)

I quit fishing with him many years ago, because I got tired of getting skunked.

Lately, though, I've thought of getting a license and getting him out to a fishing hole or two.

And I don't really care if I catch anything or not. ;)

i never caught many fish until i learned "the secret" ......being you dont go out to "try" and catch fish..... you go out to enjoy nature... and....  attempt to make the perfect cast........ if you can make the perfect cast there will always be a fish on the hook when you reel it back in   ;D

Sorry to hear about your helmet but Eric's right. Helmets WANT to be on the ground, so that's the best place to let one rest.
Randy: Get out and fish with your dad. I have many fond memmories with mine, being I grew up on a lake. He passed in 1989, way too young. Obviously I still iss him.
Frank: I never thought of fishing that way. As usual, now that I think about you are right. Ask me sometime about the 7 lb. channel cat I caught, through it's SIDE.....

Since when is going fishing about catching fish, anyway? I mean, unless you're one of those bass tournament nuts, fly fishing, or you're paying for the charter. It's about male bonding and getting the hell away from everybody else for a while.

Here in Illinois, it's about wadding a nightcrawler on a hook (doughballs and redworms are acceptable...hell, bait's probably optional as strikes cut into the beer consumption time), putting a sinker about the size of a golf ball on the line, casting that $10 Zebco, then lighting a cigar (Swisher Sweet) and cracking a beer. If you catch 'em, ya just gotta clean 'em...and where I grew up, you didn't want to eat what you caught, anyway. Bullhead, carp, sucker and bluegill ain't exactly fine dining. We got our eatin' fish from Mrs. Paul.

*That* bitch could fish. ;)
