While doing some research last night, this article caught my eye, as discussions on this topic are never far away I thought some folks might find it interesting. For the technically minded, it is an excellent and informative read.
(Bear in mind while reading the article that motorbikes don't generate anywhere near the clamping pressure or subsequent heat that cars do, let alone race cars.)

At the time of my mechanic's FJ brake upgrade, he intentionally changed over his calipers, pads, brake lines and master cylinder one at a time and rode it after each change for the purpose of gauging how much each component contributed to the overall improvement. The results were not what he was expecting.

What were his results?
