I have been riding both FJ's a bit more. I decided to take the VFR out for the 1st long ride of 2021. Met up with a group of friends to ride up to Mankato, KS for a Burger at a place called Bob's. We were a short of 20 miles from Lebanon, Kansas, which is the Geographical Center of the Lower 48 States. I didn't know about the little Chapel on the site. About the size of a gardening shed.
The group wanted to ride to Cawker City and the see the big Ball of twine. http://www.kansastravel.org/balloftwine.htm

I had no interest in that and we were only about 15 miles from Nebraska. I decided to take off on my own and rode North. I found an old barn that has been weathered by many years. The town of Red Cloud, Nebraska has a population of about 300 people. The big Bank building seemed out of place to me.  :scratch_one-s_head: :pardon:

I rode East and found my way to Hwy8. This road literally runs along the Nebraska/Kansas State line. Once back in Kansas, I rode to Minneapolis, KS for a fuel stop. From there I blazed on home. 446 miles total for a ride with friends and a Burger.

On a side note... the long ride South from Nebraska to Wichita included a stiff head wind. Riding on FJ's with the monster torque, the fuel mileage really does not change much. I normally get about 175-180 miles per tank on the Honda. 110 miles and the VFR was sniffing fumes.  :shok: :morning2:
