I received the following email yesterday from Corey Devereaux, the IMS group sales rep that helped me with last year's group purchase for the Indy MotoGP.

I took a bit of a bath (for me, anyway) on last year's purchase, so for that (and a couple of other unpleasantries) reason, I do not plan to do it again.

I did tell Corey that I would forward his information to the group, so here it is:

Hi Randy,

I
have attached our Group Brochure showing the 2009 Group Sales discounts
and benefits we offer to groups of 20 or more people.  For this year,
the group benefits will include:

- 2 Free Indianapolis Motor Speedway souvenirs ($20 value)
- 10% off coupon at the Hall of Fame Museum Gift Shop
- VIP Motorcycle Parking Pass (can be substituted for an automobile parking pass)
- Track Lap on Monday August 31st on your personal motorcycle
- Group Name on the Video Boards
- Personal Group Sales Rep. to handle your account

I
know the last time we spoke you said that you would most likely not be
involved with the group anymore. I¢m sorry it was not a great
experience last year but I wondered if you could give me some advice on
who I should contact so that those involved with the group last year
could get the benefits again this year. Let me know or feel welcome to
forward this email to them.

Thank you for all your help last year Randy.

My Best,

Corey

Randy,

Shame to hear that you got left stranded by other FJ list members.
Hard to know who are talkers and who will stand by their words.
Hope your "bath" last year was not too expensive a lesson.

Cheers,
Arnie

It was only $500 (but then again, that's most of the Penske my FJ doesn't have yet, now that I think about it  ::) ), but I should make it clear that it was mostly my fault.  The people in question were list lurkers that I had not met personally.  As such, I should not have stepped out on that limb.

I have yet to meet a regular on either this list or yahoo who would even think of doing something like that.  In fact, most will go well out of their way to help a guy out.  I've seen it time and again...    :)
