Want to do something really cool?  Install one of these.   http://www.kingsmotorbikes.com/Engine_Kit1.htm

Last summer, I put one of these motor kits on an old schwinn 10spd., and WOW is it ever kewl.  I drove it all summer (about 400 mi) before it ripped all the spokes from my rear hub. Ten speed bikes have flimsy rims, and I am sure that it will work better on a single speed cruiser style bike with big rims and tires.
Honestly, I can't say enough good things about these kits.  The price is scary low, but believe me the quality is good.
These motorized bikes are great, but dangerous.  Other motorists do not expect a bicycle to be going 40mph!

Thanks Rusty!  Wow...fucking KILLER prices!  I just ordered one...this one:

This is the actual importer...Kings is just a reseller.  I spoke with the owner at length on the phone.  Anyway, I got the all blacked out version, only $179.00 after shipping.  That is a GREAT price!!!  I honestly still can't believe it.  It was going to cost me over $1500.00 to do both my bike and my wife's bike with the electric.  We can do the two stroke for both bikes for less than $400.00...I'm stoked!

OK, I see we have a faster bicycle, now what master cylinders and calipers are we gonna use to slow it down....

Dan, I'll post pics and details to this new topic.  They can't ship to California (because of the CARB - California Air Resources Board crap...it's a 2 stroke), so I had to have it shipped to a friend in AZ - then back here.  So I won't likely get it until next week.  I'm excited though!

Has anyone else ever messed around with one of these?  Seems as though they are pretty popular in Europe...

Yeah, mod-itis strikes again.  I'll have to look into putting one of those disc brake setups on the front like the Mountain Bike dudes have.  Maybe Henry will finally approve of it if I put a pink windscreen and some front cruiser pegs on it...    ;) ;)

I see cruiser style bikes with that motor set up on them go for up to 900 up here in Vancouver WA/Portland OR area. they are posted pretty often on the craigslist.

Good luck Marsh. If I can be of any help please don't hesitate to contact me.
One thing I forgot to mention about installation. When hot starting, the motor often kicks back. Be SURE to tack weld the chain tensioner bracket to the bicycle frame.  There is a lot of stress there when you start the bike, especially hot. The tensioner assembly can twist inward, and believe me, it will easily rip out massive ammounts of spokes.

 Wow cool scooters gradis.   http://www.gekgo.com/sachs_madass.html
Those motors are bulletproof.
