My nephew in Vancouver and his friend here in Toronto are doing a Baja excursion in October this year.  His friend has a 2009 KLR650 that he was going to sell "down there" when they were done.

Just wondering if there are any complications in doing so, or if anyone could direct me to the proper online resource that I could show him?

A little more background to this story.... He only has 12 days off for this trip, so he sent out an email in regards to shipping it down there.  From that the suggestion of getting it delivered by somebody by riding it there came up.

That perked up my ears so I fervently raised my hand and said, "OH! OH! ME ME ME ME!!!!" The basics so far is to deliver it to San Diego from Toronto,  and they would pay my flight back, while I incur the expenses on the trip down.  The flight back is cheaper than shipping it by truck.

I broached the subject with the wife this morning, "Hey Hon, how about going to California in the fall to see your cousins in Fresno, and your old classmates in San Francisco?"  I explained the  caveat. She would fly out, I ride out, then make my to the SF area and stay a few days  then we both fly back.  Well she didn't say no, and even better she didnt say "That's alright dear, you just go ahead. Don't worry about me."

We will discuss it further this weekend. He will be bringing the KLR by for me to check out. Apparently it's all geared up for long distance t :wacko3:ravel.

So if this becomes a reality I will be posting an epic trip report about it. Took me about 1/2 hr to plan the route already.  Just have to cajole the boss that this is a win-win-win situation for everyone.
