Has our Govt got nothing better to do.

I'm sure at some point they're going to replace all of our Police with cameras, but pretty soon, the scenario's in Minority Report and Demolition Man (prevention and real-time-auto-fine) are going to be true in the U.K. !!!!

Does the UK have open piped Harley riders like the USA?

LOL - not really Joe, although they're not known as "Outlaw Bikers" here, they're known as Farmers  :sarcastic: :sarcastic:

Seriously though, Harley's are almost never seen on our roads, except the odd ones at Bike Festivals and Harley club rides/meets. They're just not suited to the higher average speed of traffic on smaller, twisty, heavily congested roads that are the norm here.

The Police here also take a much more draconian view on motorcycle (and car) enforcement than they do in the USA - that's why I find it so relaxing travelling on your roads (even in a fully loaded 42ft Winnebago).

It'll be interesting to get your view next year - when Liz's brother came over from Connecticut 25 years ago (he rode his CBR 600 mostly in CT and NC)and rode with us for a couple of weeks (and did some formal riding training), he was blown away by the need to so aware of everything going on around him, and in general the speed of traffic in rural highway situations.

Hopefully it only goes as far as a THX1138 world. At least they got cool cars there.

But not to worry. Soon all cars will have facial recognition software in them to ostensibly only allow you (or your spouse etc) to start the vehicle.  In reality, the next time you break the speed limit (or whatever else), you will automatically get a notification on your dash that you have just been fined and convicted, and suitable sums automatically withdrawn from your bank account.  Hmmmmmm....  NSF?  Too bad - now your car automatically parks itself and shuts off.  Thanks Elon.

The things your mind wanders to at 3am at work.  :pardon:
