I was doing some admin clean up of the forum today and realized we quietly passed by the 10 year anniversary of FJowners.com; The forum went online February 2009.

Where has the time gone?

I remember being part of the Yahoo group and all of the term oil that was associated. When Marsh chose to create this forum he hit a home run. It has become the world standard for the FJ owners community. We have had many laughs, some tough times, met many that have become great friends and had the unfortunately experience of loss of a few our friends & members here.

This forum is and continues to be a community that is formed around the Yamaha FJ motorcycle. But that is just the seed that starts everything else. I have always been excited to meet a member from here that shares the same, common interest. There is just something about the FJ that brings good people together. I have had forum members stop by the RPM shop from all over the world. It still puts me an awe when someone walks in the door. They introduce themselves and say I'm visiting from South Korea, Australia, UK, Norway, Taiwan, and Canada. Also people from across the country that swing in while vacationing in California or drive here for work on their FJ, it just is unbelievable when it occurs.

Yes, we have had some squirrels over the years, but Irishluck has held that title since the first day he posted. In fact when I go to the banned member list it is less than 100. I would say 95% of those banned were all spammers. We have been very fortunate to have a strong firewall that keeps the majority of spammer away and the few that do get in are removed quickly.

I want to extend a very big thank you for the continuing support of the FJowners.com forum. This forum would not be anything without the member support and participation. Members come & go, the scenry changes but when one member falls off the radar it seems like two more join.

Here is a few interesting stats.

A big thanks to Pat, Mark and Fred for their help moderating the forum.

In closing, I want to thank everyone for taking the ride and keeping the ride going for many more years to come. Keep the rubber side down and to quote Father Pat...ATGATT

If you haven't been to a FJ rally, you really should go. Once you go once, you will keep going.

Huzzah to you and the forum.  Many nice and generous members here from all walks of life and corners of the globe.  One of the friendliest forums I've ever seen too.  Hardly enough flaming to light a candle.  To those members that have been here since 2009, Happy Anniversary and thank you for sharing.

I think RPM is the heartbeat of the community. I don't know if I would stay connected without you guys. I've made some great friends through this forum, and I don't see it changing. Looking forward to the next 10 years!

Thanks for all you do, Randy and Robert

Both forum and FJ are more than the sum of their parts.

Well thats the date I registered to the forum 3 years after I purchased my beautiful 1988 3CV. I started out on the yahoo group where I first found others with a passion for the FJ. I am glad there are so many here as the wealth of knowledge is a blessing.

Thanks to Randy for continuing the support to the forum and the parts we all need to keep our ageing girls functional.

Bought the second fj1200 sold in Wisconsin in 86. Put 14,000miles on it in 2 1/2 months. And totalled it when a cb1100 crashed in front of me at about 135 mph. Then rode many other bikes (and crashed a few). Then 26 years later... I bought my buddies 86 that had been in storage for 12+years. With the forums and Randy's help. Turned her into the fj1350r. And now own 5 Fjs. And will never go away again. Fjs forever. And more great friends. Thanks for everyone's help/friendships. Can't wait to get back to the rallies. And meet more of you. And thank you Randy and Robert. For the one thing that allows the Fj to live on. RPM!!!

Wow, just Wow... It has been a few years. My transition from Yahoo to FJowners was a choice between IN or OUT. I am quite happy to be included in this group. It is a really good collection of people that I would stay connected with, regardless of my love for the FJ. The bike, people, love, I look forward to having more time to spend here and at rallies. Long live the love for the FJ...

I've been a member for 6 yrs now and although I don't post much on here anymore I view the forum virtually everyday, and according to the stats have been online for 76 days and 10 hrs. :shok:  There's a wealth of knowledge on here and I read just about every post and all the problems and fixes that people have for them and have passed some of that knowledge on to others in need. I've made some good friends through this forum with get togethers, rides, Manshed days, Rally's etc...that I never would've met if it wasn't for this bike. Thanks to Randy for keeping this forum going and also for supplying the parts to upgrade and keep these iconic bikes on the road for many years to come.

Too young to be old but old enough to know better.

I came over in March of '09  -  had just gotten back from a deployment and was dismayed to find the yahoo group in shambles.  The upside is I missed whatever the brouhaha was about!  Kudos to Marsh and Randy for the birth and evolution of this site! :drinks:

This is truly a great digital campfire - it's the people that make this a great resource and gathering place.

Kookaloo!
