In the process of doing the first oil change on my 3rd FJ1200, I discovered that the oil filter spring was not there!  What are the ramifications of this?  I've ordered one, of course, and I've downed the bike until I get it.  Thanks for any input!

The filter doesn't filter anything if it isn't there. The spring keeps the filter sealed against the block. If it is not pressed against the block; the oil is allowed to bypass the filter.

This is the way to go for oil changes on the FJ
