Clean brake calipers seals

I have taken apart the front brake calipers and took the seals off to replace with new ones. I have been cleaning and soaking the calipers in soapy water and using a toothbrush and a wooden tooth pick to clean the seal grooves but there is still some crud left that just won't come out. Is there a better way of doing this or a product I can use.

Did you try Brake Cleaner, in an aerosol can?  You may want to wrap around the pistons inside the grooves with non-synthetic knitting yarn, or thin strips of cotton cloth, to hold the solvent in place for a time.

Yeah I've tried brake cleaner even let it soak for a bit and it didn't really remove much. I have seen someone used a brass dremmel wheel but I don't really want to try that just Incase it scuffs up the inside.

Just soaked them in that and used a small tooth pick it's coming out. Thank you for letting me know Seafoam will do that.

Stainless steel wire wheel on a Dremel works great... very quick and easy. Never had a problem with fluid leakage; the seals seem to be very tolerant of any minor imperfections. Make sure the pistons are perfect; clean with scotchbrite pad.

Same here, used Dremel with softbrush and metalpolish, worked fine, see pic...
