got a wacky project goin with an fj1100 motor mounted to a vw transaxle and stuffing into a rail chassis. issue im having is figuring out the oil blowing out the breather. the oil is gonna slosh to the clutch cover due to orientation but from the looks of it I may have an fj1200 cover on the 1100 motor. from the few photos ive seen the fj1200 cover and gasket has a slot cut out to go against the rubber seal up by where the crank breaker goes into the cases. the fj11oo one looks like it may just use that upper section? im trying to figure out what I got then how to move forward with something that will work. right now it looks like if I just make a longer rubber seal or something since its recessed on my motor that it will seal up with the clutch cover breather and work. other choice is gonna be to maybe make an oil catch can. ill have issues when getting on it hard acceleration and high rpm. just threw the Barnett conversion in with all new plates so its gonna be pulling harder than ever since the old clutch was completely toasted... buggy is a blast to ride so far tho even bein just short test rides.

For those of us that have eliminated the stock air box on our FJ's, there is a requirement of putting a filter of some kind on the end of the crankcase breather hose that goes into the stock air box. Many use the stock breather hose and put a small K&N filter in the end.

I don't think the length of the hose matters.

As far as the clutch cover and the internal oil breather unit that mount to the inside of the cover. IIRC, a very knowledgeable Original FJ owner mentioned to me, that the main purpose of the internal oil breather unit is to help keep the oil from foaming while in operation. I ran a clutch cover without the internal oil breather for a few years without any adverse effect. I would not be overly concerned on whether my clutch cover is from an 1100 or 1200. either one should bolt on and seal just fine.

As an example: RPM sells this clutch cover for the FJ1100/FJ1200/XJR1200 and XJR1300. http://rpmracingca.com/proddetail.asp?prod=OuterClutchRing
