Enough sitting on the fence, I have decided to join the forum

I have a '91, '92 and a 93 FJ1200.
I hope to learn more about mods and get down to a FJ rally this summer in PA
Keep up the good work on this site.

Welcome... there are a few of us from Ontario (I'm in Whitby).
3 FJs?  How, pray tell, do you afford insurance for all three in Ontario?  ;-)

Two are in running order. The '92 is a project/parts bike. The previous owner smucked the front end so I am waiting for the right parts (wheel and forks) to come along. My insurance is only around $800 each and $400 for my DRZ400. The cost of enjoying what you do.

Hey Rick, getting ready to snow here in North Carolina,  :-[ ,but of course it's nothing like what you folks have up there eh.

I did the summer rally last year, it was a hoot.  Great road and routes planned out by the locals Jack, Nancy, Carey and of course the best part is the fellowship around the campground before and after the riding. ;D

Hey Rick,

Kincardine Ontario here with a 92.  Three FJs....  I want to be you when I grow up!

Your 92 tproject bike that was smucked..... did you purchase it late last year from someone advertising on Kijiji? (I was looking into a crashed 92 (front end) with low miles but the asking price was a bit high)....

I am consistantly on the lookout for a mint shape 89 (white and silver).....one day I know something will turn up.

I like Jake's idea of getting together for a rally run.

I was looking at going down to PA in July. That would be a great ride.

Perry are you considering a Round the Lakes Iron Butt in 100 hours? I have done the Saddle Sore 1000 around Lake Ontario and Erie.
I may be ready for another one. When are you thinking of going?

The owner of the '92 contacted me through Kijiji. I have an add there looking for '91 to 93 FJ1200. It is amazing what comes up.

Rick,

I will be doing the IBA Great Lakes in 100 hrs.....probably in July to avoid the black flies up North.

I have seen your advertisments on Kijiji.... small world.  I am looking for a set of OEM mufflers (must be in great shape) for my 92 if you find a set.

Did you do the SS1000 on an FJ?

Perry,

Yes it was my '93 FJ. I bought a Corbin seat just for the occasion.
I started at 2:30 am and was home again by 8:30pm.

I do have '92 OEM muflers but I can't part with them yet.  Sorry Dude!

I got a custom shock a few years ago from Stadium Suspension http://www.stadiumsuspension.com/ in Montreal.  Mine was for a JMC swingarm, but a number of people did a group buy, so they have the measurements for a stock FJ.  The quality and service was excellent.

On my '93 I put a Hagon Shock that I got from David Quinn Motorcycles in Bethany CT. davidquinnmotorcycles.com.
It cost US$441.00 plus shipping. I can't remember what the final price was but I dodn't think it was more than $50 to ship.
Compared to the original shock it is way better and the bike is more solid on the road.
