Thanks for having me. I received a 1984 Yamaha FJ 1100 as payment for a job I did, but I have no intentions of keeping it. My FJ1100 came to me as a basket case and it's almost put back together. I'll be trading my FJ1100 for a much smaller engine bike as soon as it's a complete bike again. I'll post some pics soon.

Welcome! is there any particular reason that you don't want to keep the bike? I know the engine size can be a bit daunting at first, but these bikes sure are a hell of a lot of fun to ride! I have an 1100 as well, and it is my very first bike. If you take the time to get to know it, the bike will treat you right!

The size of the bike doesn't bother me. I'm just kind of a hermit and when I ride it's to work (2 blocks away) or to the store (1/4 mile away). I need a commuter and I REALLY miss riding a ninja 250 honestly (2007 is my fav). My unicorn or favorite bike would be a 2013 Kawasaki Ninja ZX6R 636.

Yeah, a nice FJ could really mess up that commute...you'llfind yourself leaving early and getting there late... wow- I found a new way to work that's 30 miles longer!

1984 Yamaha FJ110 = 33.4 mpg / 2007 Kawasaki Ninja 250 = 74 mpg..... You're right, tough math there buddy. Maybe i'm crazy but I tend to show up to work on time so I can keep my job I do go riding on weekends but nothing that warrants a 1100 cc bike

I totally understand. For some rides, the 250 Ninja is the perfect bike, and if that's the only kind of riding you ever do, why would you want anything else?

I've spent some time on my wife's 250 Ninja, and my son rode it consistently for a year and a half, probably put 6,000 miles on it (including a handful of FJ rallies and other thousand-mile weekends.) For short surface-street trips, riding the FJ1200 is like taxiing down the road in a Gulfstream, or pruning branches with a 22" chainsaw, while riding the 250 Ninja is about as fun as motorcycles get. It's not about using half the fuel, it's about how it's more fun to use the right tool for the job.
