Hey all, my chain broke a few days back, and Pat has been helping me with everything that i need to do to fix it. In our discussion, we were talking about gearing, and i currently have a 17/42 stock. I want to go to a 17/44, hoping to get a little more low end pickup. The question is, can i still use a 110 link chain for that gear set up, or would i need a longer chain?

Have if you orderd a 110 link chain then I wouldn't go any bigger then 42 tooth.once everything is installed and fit is realized then id opt for the 44toth.my suggestion

Yeah, i ordered a 110 link. It wasn't until later that i knew i needed to replace the sprockets, and could change the gearing. So, you're saying fit a stock 42 tooth for now, and see if the fitment will allow for a 44 tooth after everything is working?

Absolutely.you can always go for a larger sprocket later.Idk I hate changing to much stuff at one time.I may be a little conservative tho
