Double clutch spring question

Is this shim still used with double clutch spring mod? And are both springs back to back or are they like the picture shown. Thanks.

Sorry for distroted pictures. Here is the shim type ring that goes into pressure plate.

Heres the shim that goes in the pressure plate with single spring. Is it still used?

Yes, that prevents the spring(s) from digging into the aluminum pressure plate.
