 Funny, I also recently listened to Beth Hart and Jo Bonamassa. Amazing, for three reasons. Musicianship, singing and the quality of the recording. I am using a LINN Accurate DS. It is used to stream any types of files from a hard drive. The beauty of a system like this is that it relays ALL the information to your Amp, speakers etc. Now if you use compressed files like MP3's it will always sound crappy. Fortunately many artists are realizing that there are some audiophiles out there that want good sounding music. Many master quality flac files are available from older music. Say FJ owners vintage. Led Zeppelin released a re-mastered version of their entire collection in flac files. The difference in sound quality is stunning. Most old bands, The who, Stones, Doors and many, many more recorded their music very well on analog equipment that was light years better than the digital stuff used today. The issue with a lot of the recordings today is that most of the music is processed to death. Each layer of processing takes your ear farther away from the instrument .

+1 on that....lossy compression vs lossless, no comparison on the right equipment in the right settings.

My 25 year old niece with her MP3 music files, thinking that playing that shit over a set of $500 headphones, was the bomb....
Well, she was astonished when I played for her some remastered 192kHz/24bit Flac files. She had no idea what she was missing...

I've tried to like Bonamassa, I really have. I wanted to, but I just can'r warm up to him and I can't stand to watch him. Amazing musician, technically proficient, I admire his talent, but I just don't feel any soul. I'll take Buddy Guy...

The only thing I've heard Beth Hart do is her duet with Bonamassa on "Joy", and I prefer the original by Lucinda Williams. I'll have to check out more of her stuff.

I find Bonamassa enjoyable.  I also like Buddy Guy a lot.  But I think Beth Hart  _MORE_  than complements both of those guys!  I like all 3 of 'em as performers.
