Hi All

Just replaced front wheel bearings but when I knocked out the Speedo drive side out I didn't notice which way the clutch retainer sat (item 8 ) as when I turned the wheel over they where in a bit of disorder. Should it be dished in or dished out?

And it looks like the oil seal on top of it gets pushed all the way in, not flush like others, so the Speedo drive sits in a bit further

That would be my pick too Fred as the small lip in the centre fits nicely onto the meter clutch holding it in place with the back of the oil seal sitting on the flatter side  :scratch_one-s_head:
But I'm not sure, but it sounds like you are, thanks

Hey Alan, where did all that red grease come from?

Just a bit of Silkolene RG2 grease on outside of bearing to assist install, looks worse than what it was,
Sticking a finger the grease tub usually attacks more than what you need.

Note : No added extra grease was applied or tried to be applied to the sealed bearing, I believe that the bearing gods know exactly how much grease should be in there, Not Me

You didn't tell me which way that clutch retainer sits?
