2018 Australian FJ Rally

   G'day everyone, the 2018 Australian FJ Rally will be held at Mudgee, NSW on the 9th and 10th of March, next year.
The venue will be  http://www.orientalhotel.com.au
I apologise for not revealing it earlier but the venue does not accept bookings for accommodation more than six months in advance.
Last weekend a small group of us visited and stayed at the above location and found it to be ideal for our event. There is a motel
directly across the road for those who prefer to stay in a bit more luxury. There are a number of other hotels/motels within easy walking (stumbling)
distance, so accommodation will not be a problem.
On our return home on Sunday, we rode most of the proposed Rally route and I guarantee there won't be too many disappointed riders or passengers.
A good mixture of tight and open corners and great scenery, around 235kms long, so easily achievable with lunch, photo stops and some educational
sight seeing along the way.

That's excellent Pete, although being roughly in the middle I might have to take an extra day to guarantee the "Longest Distance Travelled" trophy again, it's the only one I have a show of winning if Ray turns up with his mobile detailing kit.

After copping that monsoon on the way to Harrietville last year Noel, my detailing kit has now been upgraded to include a mini Gerni, perfect for that caked on mud and insect splatter

   Just across the road from the pub if you need coffee or a light meal.

   A ride around the Hill End township is also highly recommended. The ride is not overly long so there will be ample time for pic's and sight seeing.
Sofala is also a highlight as far as unusual towns go so we'll do a lap of the main street. Truly an eye opener.

Pete has organised some truly great rides and as usual the social activities will be Very very memorable, though the committee is considering a slight change to the chook raffle!
(my vote is for a duck raffle!)

   For any of our members coming down from up north, Alf and I are going to be staying at Musswellbrook on the Thursday night before the Rally. Let us know and we will personally guide you to Mudgee via the Bylong Valley. We've done it a few times so we won't lead you astray! If you haven't ridden this road before this is a great opportunity to do it. I guarantee you will love it. Give me a bit of notice so we can arrange a meeting place and time.
