Is there some issue with the fuel pump models? or something.....  btfom, I'm tired.

Are the '89's a gravity feed model?

Anybody got a '86-fitting petcock they want to sell?

Cheers

88-90 petcock will NOT work, I think the 91-93 is the same....fuel pump model petcocks don't have a lever, they have a square 8mm post that needs a wrench to turn. Different bolt pattern, too...

86-87 has a very expensive petcock $168ish retail (electric reserve) but are avalible.
They were also on some other models too.  seca? maxim?

When I first got the bike, a few years ago, I was giving it a once-over and the spigot part of the petcock came out of it's place, into my hand. Great!  :dash1:   So I JB Weld it back in there, which has worked wonderfully since, but as I hadn't had the bike long, I wasn't familiar with where what bits go, and how, so I put the spigot bit back at the wrong angle, which has been making the fuel pipe rub real hard against the fuel pipe that feeds 1&2 carbs. Needless to say, this gradually wears through, so I have to replace line fairly frequently. If I don't want to be going down the road in a ball of flame, that is.

Apart from that detail, the petcock works just fine.  :greeting:

Is there such a thing as SS braided fuel line?

Why don't you give big George a call. I think he has a couple off the parts bikes.

yes there is, but I think it would be very cumbersome in this application. (routing of hoses)
I don't know what dissolves J-B weld? but I'm sure someone on here does.
there are a few members on here parting out 86s.
