Glad to hear you in good spirits Troy and put me down for the Nowra manshed day to help fix yummy  :nyam1:

Not sure if any of the parts removed from My 92 3XW bike are of any use but your welcome to them - just shout out.

I reckon a custom alloy subframe might save a bit of weight........ :good2:

take care, get well and stop pestering the nurses

I went up to Canberra to visit Troy yesterday. He continues to be in good spirits and is resting in more comfort since he had a stainless steel plate and screws fitted to his pelvis last Friday. His pain management seems to be working better for him since the dosage and some of the drugs were reduced or changed.
He is still trying to be transferred closer to his home to enable his wife and kids easier visitation. Boredom seems to be his biggest problem, he's even resorted to watching test cricket. Hopefully he can get moved to Nowra so his time can be filled in with more visits from his family and friends.
Hope everyone has a great Christmas and a fun New Year.
                                                                                       Regards, Pete.  :drinks:

Holy shit! I didn't realise things were that grim.

I'd pull the plug on my life support before it got to that.

Just received a message from Troy, he is being transferred to a hospital in his home town. Great news for him and his family.
His Christmas just got a whole lot better.  :good2:

That is great news indeed!

I know how much family means to Troy and this must be great news for him at Christmas time, especially with young children.

Well done to whoever pulled this off. Sounds like someone may have been pulling a few strings.

Enjoy Chrismas with your family Troy, we are all thinking of you and looking forward to seeing you back on the road.

Thanks for the update Pete. I got an email from Troy last week as well. It sounds like he is in good hands and it is great news he can be closer to home.

That is great news Pete,

That will relieve a lot of stress for him at this time of year.

Thanks Al,

Also everyone thanks very much for the support. It means a lot.

I'm feeling great considering.

The surgeons are sticking to their 6 week bed rest method.

I found out why earlier today.

Each fracture was completely displaced, much more than a crack ( he he, three bum cracks!).

As my pelvis kept falling apart they couldn't do the normal external fixing & had to unzip me and add some hardware.

The surgeon who visited this morning said they put in the absolute minimum of internal fixing & and any shenanigans by me moving too much (just going to the dunny for instance) could cause the bone to separate again. In another couple of days I'll be at the two week mark & really don't want to start the 6 week count down again.

Here's a pic of the post op CT scan showing the hardware. The two top screws are 150mm long SS canulated hex head with washer. I'm not sure what they used to fix the mechano down the bottom. The bottom one holds the front of my pelvis together, the top screws attach it to the spine at the rear from either side. At least it wasn't a "hold my beer" kind of crash (he he).

I'll have to put the 1100 refresh on hold whilst I get the 12 back up to spiv.
