Good deal, but not for me.

Somedays, I have a hard enough time folding myself on the FJ. An R1 would be pure agony (bordering on hospital visit) from the get go...

Yea, a couple of years ago I got the chance to ride a 2014 GSX-R for an day (long day) Fun bike, and on a couple of occasions, scared the shit outta me.
My lower back was twinging after 2 hours and my knees were sore. A couple tabs of Ibuprofen helped and stops to stretch.
All in all a good ride, but at the end I was more than ready to stop.
I'm 6'3" with a 35" inseam and just not physically built for that bike. My legs and arms are too long.

It was quite an eye opener on the capabilities of a modern sport bike. Wow....Razor sharp.

I think a dedicated GSXR750 track bike would be fun at my local Chuckwalla Valley track. I could tow it in a small trailer with my Miata. Add 4 Miata R compounds on the trailer, then I could run the bike in the morning sessions and the Miata in the afternoon. Change back to my street tires (and brake pads) and drive home.

Best of both worlds.
