New chain and sprockets

Installed a new countershaft sprocket (Thanks Randy), a NOS rear sprocket (for the 1984 FJ1100, 42 tooth) and a DID 530VX chain.

Also a couple other replacement items.



The DID chain tool made riveting the link a snap, piece of cake, so easy, no need to measure the rivet crush size, just wonderful.



I'm not sure if it is the stock front sprocket with built in dampener or what, sure is smooth.

Test ride went perfectly, no issues.

Front tire time, removing the wheel tonight was quite beneficial to me, a great way to wind down from the day.



I'm going to need rotors (and pads) and probably do the brakes lines at the same time - sooner rather than later.



Mount the tire tomorrow, Avon Roadrunner to match the back.

New tire mounted, overall, just wonderful.

Very happy with the bike right now.

With the 42 tooth rear sprocket, it's a tad buzzier on the highway, but absolutely no need to downshift for warp drive, just a twist of the wrist away.

And off the line, the bikes more of a beast than it's even been, and that's what I was looking for.

Yes, I know what you mean by the increased buzziness with the 42T out back. I changed mine to a smaller size before embarking on some long trips that required droning on highways. The smaller size certainly helps the buzziness at highway speeds, but at the expense of some snap out of slower, tighter, corners, and launches from stops. Never went back to the 42T, that is held in reserve. Those OEM rear sprockets will last and last if the drive system is well-cared for.
